Restaurants in Florence with special menu celiac people
Trattorias and Restaurants for people with celiac disease

I' Toscano

Via Guelfa, 70/r - Firenze
Tel: 055-215475
Closed on Tuesday

This restaurant with traditional atmosphere offers delicious tuscan food. Beeing very close to our Hotel Basilea, I tried it many times and always enjoyed their traditional dishes. My favourite in the winter are: tortelli as a first dish and "peposo" as a second dish: chopped meat slowly cooked into red wine and a lot of pepper grains. Very tasty dish from Renaissance Florence.
People with Celiac disease will find astonishing that they can enjoy almost the full menu, from "antipasti" to the dessert.
Sergio, the owner, prepares himself the dessert and usually he uses a special flower for celiac poeple as an ingredient.

Before eating anything kindly clearly explain in advance to the staff that you need food for celiac people. I suggest you to talk directly with Mr. Sergio, the owner, BEFORE ORDERING anything. He is very kind, as well as his daughter working there, and they'll help you to satisfy your requests.

La Gratella

Via Guelfa, 81/r
Tel: 055-211292
Closed on Sunday

A simple trattoria with recently restiled ambiance in a pink tonality. Clean. Good service. They are specialized in tuscan simple dishes and they advertise "specialized in celiac food". I enjoyed this little trattoria a couple of times in the past and always enjoyed their food. I ate a small steak, which was well done. The price is convenient for the quality and service they offer.

Our Hotel Basilea is located 50 meters away from this trattoria and 50 meters away from the I'Toscano restaurant. We can say our hotel is conveniently located for people with celiac disease !
